For instance, the marketing group needs someone at the Northwest and Northeast entrance doors to hand out game night programs. So, who do they call? Promo crew (that's me).
Other times, Old No. 7 wants help handing out programs. Who do they call? Yep, you guessed it. Me again.
Still other times (and this is a rare treat!), the other internship program asks us to help with the Rumble Club. This entails putting tattoos and stickers on children of all ages (to include intoxicated adults) and "assisting clients" with signs. In other words, I'm the person who stocks the markers and paper.
Despite the exciting world of the intern, there are still a few more perks to the job.
Number one, they pay us!!!
Number two, sometimes we get free tickets!
Number three, we get our foot in the door for other internships and job openings!!!!!
Last but certainly not least, I get college credit for handing out programs and babysitting the kiddos at Thunder games!!
So, who cares if this is not shaping up to be what I expected - suits and ties, sales team, helping with the camera operations - it is still a foot in the door, and a girl has got to start somewhere.
